The Obligatory About Us Page
The ‘We’ of Tasmanian Website Development and Software (TWS) is currently an ‘I’, with some assistance from colleagues stretching back decades into my Information Technology past.
I have come from a position as a senior software developer and project manager in the big smoke and hubbub of the Great North Island, to the quiet life of Launceston on the smaller Great South Island (Tasmania).
What I Do is help with the Mystical Arts.
To many, the whole Interweb is just a big mystery.
It is there, it has stuff on it somehow, and for some there is a realisation that they should also have stuff on it.
Putting stuff on the Interweb is not that difficult if you know what to do, if you don’t though it can be a bit daunting to know where to start.
My job is to help with the mystical art of getting stuff up on to the Interweb.
I also help people to let other people know that their stuff is now there (this is the equally magical task of getting your stuff to appear on search engines like Google. The correct term is Search Engine Optimisation or SEO).
The World can be excessively complex, so I try not to be.
My approach to the Interweb thing is to try to keep something that can get a bit complex, as simple as possible.
This page for example is using the current default theme for WordPress. That was good enough for me.
I use WordPress because it is exceedingly popular and well supported.
This means any errors I run into, someone has run into before, and most stuff you need on your website like e-commerce or newsletters etcetera has already been written, tested and refined by many people out there.
This means that a website can go together like Lego, rather than like many carefully collected pebbles that are then glued together (not sure that is the best metaphor, but you hopefully get the idea).
Making Contact
If you think I can help you with your stuff, please make contact.
It may not seem that I am a professional with my somewhat cavalier approach to communication, but I assure you that most of the time I am very professional.
I will for example more than likely wear shoes to our first appointment if we go that far.
So use the form below to say hello.
